  • How long will my appointment take?
Depending on the complexity of the patient problem, the initial consultation with Dr Khullar takes between 30-60 minutes and review consultations are done in 15-30 minutes.
  • Do I need a GP referral to see Dr. Khullar?
Dr Khullar sees patients both with and without a GP referral. We, however, recommend you have a referral from a GP or another specialist to claim a higher Medicare rebate for the consultation or procedures. A GP referral remains valid for 12 months from the first consult, while other medical specialist referrals are valid for 3 months. Each referral is for a single issue. You will need a separate referral for consultation on another issue.
  • What is Dr. Khullar’s fee and do I have to pay it on the day of the consultation?
Dr Khullar performs many outpatient procedures along with standard consultations and the fee varies for each of them. At the time of making an appointment, all the information regarding the fee and the rebates associated with them will be discussed with you in order for you to have all that information prior to booking in for the consultation.

You are expected to pay the full fee related to consultation and/or the procedure on the same day in our clinic. There will be a modest out of pocket expense above the rebate you will receive from the Medicare. We can help and submit your claim to the Medicare on your behalf if you choose to do so.
  • Can Dr. Khullar write rebatable MRI scans?
Yes, Dr. Khullar can write rebateable MRI scans for most body parts till they adhere to the Medicare Benefit rules.
  • Can I get my scan reports discussed over the phone?
Dr Khullar prefers not to discuss reports of any investigation over the phone. This is entirely based on not being able to provide fully informed and evidence-based information without discussing the imaging scans themselves and not just the report.
  • If there’s a need for any procedure, can it be done on the same day of my first appointment?
Generally, the procedures are not done on the day of your consultation. This is firstly due to time constraints and secondly, Dr Khullar would like to discuss the procedure and the related information with you on the day. This will give you an adequate amount of time to think about the procedure and have all your questions related to it, answered by Dr Khullar so that you can make a fully informed consent. This, however, can vary keeping your health interests in mind.
  • What do I need to bring along with me on the day of my consultation?
You should carry the following for a consultation-

    ●Your GP/specialist referral
●All images, scans and reports related to the current issue that have been done previously
●Pathology results and other specialist investigations
●Comfortable clothes that you can wear for the examination process

  • I have a work-related injury or Traffic accident claim. Can I see Dr Khullar? Is there any Out of pocket expense to see Dr Khullar for such an injury?
Yes, Dr Khullar sees patients with work- related injury and Traffic accident claims. If you have any work-related injury or Traffic accident claim, you are still expected to pay the fee on the day and claim it back from your insurer by yourself. Hence, we suggest you have an approved claim before you make an appointment to see Dr Khullar.
